During his learning and development career, to improve his knowledge and therefore the support he offers, David has studied a range of topics, including how our brain works, and when it doesn’t seem to conform to the norm.
This has had a two-fold effect, firstly helping clients, and also the realisation that David too can tick boxes like for example OCD, BSD, ADD-ADHD up to his teenage years, and like so many is somewhere on the ASD spectrum too…
This is simply being candid, and the effect is that when clients talk about their issues, David is able to empathise with honesty, understand the impact they can have on their lives, both personal and professional.
Like stress, too. David resigned from a job without having another to walk into, due to what he felt was unfair pressure from the MD. He self-certified/agreed stress with his doctor, signed off for two weeks and basically thought, life’s too short.
Depression, a good understanding from people close to him which had a personal impact, and also the realisation that he had shown early symptoms, before taking action to address it.
Now, David uses his own and others’ experience to help his clients, of all ages and backgrounds.
He holds the MBA, Masters in Executive Coaching and Mentoring, Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Diplomas in NLP and Professional Coaching, and has over 30 years’ business management and training experience.
David is also a Master EMCC member and a D5 NHS volunteer.
For your peace of mind David holds related insurance cover and has Enhanced DBS status.
Chester born and bred, David played many sports when younger, unfortunately picking up injuries necessitating trips to the hospital and more recently a total knee replacement. However, he has made a full recovery and is often seen flying around Chester on his racing bike.
Clearly in his spare time, David loves to keep fit, in the current environment using dusted-off gym equipment trying to keep the lockdown pounds to the minimum.
He also hosts a radio show on a local community radio station, where his eclectic taste includes Soul, Northern Soul, Jazz, Funk, and has been known to play country and classical but not heavy metal-they have another show for that…
The show has been highly successful and includes raising awareness of mental health issues, something that will be discussed in more detail on his late Monday night show, where the music will be a lot more mellow and relaxing, with an exercise designed to ready you for bed.
